Parkway Vistas Modern Villa in Dubai Hills Estate

A villa composed around one soaring arch — a slender travertine tower rising the full height of the façade, flanked by two timber-clad volumes with softly rounded corners that glow along their edges after dark.

The whole composition is organised around one vertical gesture. A slender travertine tower rises through both storeys at the centre of the façade, its top drawn into a tall rounded arch that frames a narrow, full-height glazed slot. Inside that arch, a fluted vertical panel in warm timber runs down to the entrance, and the reveal is outlined in concealed warm LED, so after dark the arch reads as a single continuous ribbon of light. The villa was conceptualized for a custom plot in Parkway Vistas, the architect-led independent-villa collection within Dubai Hills Estate.

Flanking the tower, two deep volumes project forward on the upper floor, each framed in travertine and infilled with warm timber, their generously rounded corners giving them an almost capsule-like softness. The tall picture windows carry the same rounded geometry, and the full outline of each volume is traced in cove LED; by night the two forms float as glowing rounded rectangles above the ground floor. Slim glass-balustrade balconies tuck beneath them, the frameless panels keeping the volumes uninterrupted.

The ground floor settles all that lightness into texture. Rough cream stacked stone — laid in an irregular, hand-set pattern — wraps the lower walls, its coarse grain set against the smooth, chalky travertine of the tower and the window surrounds. Tall windows with softly rounded upper corners are pushed into the stone, their frames catching uplight from fixtures set at the base of the wall. At the centre, beneath the arch, a double-height glazed entrance sits behind an ornate black-metal door, its pointed-arch tracery the one piece of fine decorative work against so much calm stone.

The approach is choreographed with water and greenery. A short flight of steps climbs to the entrance, flanked by narrow runnels of turquoise-lit water that mirror the arch above, with clipped topiary and sculptural potted palms marking the arrival. The plot is closed by a black metal railing fence set between travertine piers, each pier fitted with a vertical LED strip and a timber insert, with small arched motifs set into the low boundary wall between them, so the perimeter reads as a rhythm of soft-lit markers at dusk, a dark sports car at the kerb almost an afterthought beside a villa this composed.

What carries the design is the contrast of weight and glow: heavy stacked stone and solid travertine holding the ground, warm timber volumes and lit outlines lifting the upper floor, and the single great arch tying both storeys into one quietly futuristic silhouette.
