Utopia Organic Contemporary Villa, DAMAC Hills Dubai – Interior Project

Utopia Organic Contemporary Villa in DAMAC Hills, Dubai

A villa drawn from nature and rendered in the richest stone — a verde-marble kitchen with its own waterfall island, botanical-silk bedrooms, mercury-glass chandeliers hung like drifting cloud, and a gilded ginkgo branch trailing the length of a double-height majlis.

A single idea carries through every room: the forms of nature, translated into the richest possible materials. The main living volume rises double-height over book-matched Calacatta, lit by an oval chandelier of densely clustered crystal droplets. Beneath it stands a dining table in veined grey-brown marble, edged in slim brushed-gold trim and set with a sculptural gold centrepiece, a stack of Chanel art books and green-glazed place settings; the chairs alternate ivory bouclé with deep olive-green velvet, each on fluted gilt legs. A long ivory sideboard holds king protea stems in slender vases, and an arched brass-framed shelving screen filters the view into the sunken lounge, where cream sofas carry zebra-print and emerald cushions around a marble coffee table dressed with a Tom Ford book. A white staircase curves up behind a bronze-tinted glass balustrade, and a linear fire ribbon glows under the wall-hung television beside black-and-white striped vases. The interior was conceptualized for a home in the Utopia collection of DAMAC Hills, one of the greenest of the city's golf-side enclaves.

The organic register deepens in the second living hall, capped by a warm timber-slatted ceiling and a chandelier of mirror-silvered glass pebbles scattered like cloud above sage bouclé sofas with olive and taupe cushions. A plaster wall moulded into rows of soft four-point petals runs floor to ceiling beside a panel of deep green marble, and cross-shaped slivers of LED glow from the rounded white columns. A glazed vitrine of golden barrel cacti, pebbles and a sculpted bonsai brings the garden indoors, while a kinetic bronze figure spinning a gold ring anchors the console behind. The arrival hall opens under a branching chandelier of gilded brass leaves and amber glass, set over a console cast as polished tree roots beneath a glass top, flanked by fluted plaster piers, pale grey-oak doors and a smaller leaf pendant mirrored in the glossy black floor.

Green marble is the signature of the kitchens. The main room runs a waterfall island and full-height backsplash of deep verde alpi, veined in white, against fluted sand-toned cabinetry, sunburst-grained wood wall panels, a stainless chimney hood and olive velvet bar stools on bronze legs; a gold wine-rack sculpture sits in a backlit niche framed in the stone. A quieter galley keeps the fluted joinery with a glass dining table, soft green chairs, a black-marble gas cooktop and a slab of abstract green-and-cream art, a bowl of apples and pears left on the counter.

The majlis spaces hold the quietest drama. A sunken lounge wraps a U-shaped travertine-toned banquette with powder-blue bolsters beneath a chandelier of blue ribboned rods, its wave-textured wallpaper and grey abstract canvas echoing the movement overhead. The formal sitting room drifts a gilded ginkgo branch across the ceiling above cream panelled walls, a fluted stone central screen, a black marble table and cushions of mustard gold and indigo botanical print, a woven cream rug underfoot.

Bedrooms turn to the forest directly, headboard walls hung with tonal palm-and-monstera silk lit from behind, crowned by sculptural pleated-paper blooms and framed by bead-trimmed pilasters. Each holds a bouclé bed, a channel-tufted bench, an upholstered window-seat, glass-fronted walk-in wardrobes displaying bags and shoes, and a geometric-weave wool rug. The primary suite pairs a Calacatta headboard with a vertical inset of dark forest marble and trailing pendant lariats over olive-green bedding and a diamond-knit throw. The upstairs family lounge carries the palette on in sage armchairs, cross-lit columns and a verde-marble television wall.

Throughout the bathrooms, pietra grey and dove marble wrap freestanding tubs — one speckled like black terrazzo, another scattered with rose petals — served by brushed-bronze fittings, fluted timber double vanities with vessel basins, cluster pendants of ribbed glass, backlit mirrors, woven storage baskets, hanging striped robes and walk-in rain showers behind slim gold-framed glass. Holding the whole house together is the dialogue between the organic and the crafted: living stone, art glass, gilded metal and natural silk, each drawn from the garden outside and reworked into something quietly opulent.
