Crystal Lagoon Mansion, District One MBR City - Interior

A Calacatta-and-brass staircase sweeps two storeys past a mezzanine to a planted light-well of cypress and lavender, Sputnik crystal bursts falling through the double-height void, bouclé and petrol-blue velvet gathered on herringbone walnut — a lagoon-front mansion interior in District One, drawn in marble, Canaletto walnut and antique brass.

District One, the lagoon-front mansion enclave of MBR City in Dubai, is home to a mansion interior ALGEDRA has conceptualized around a double-height volume and the open light off the Crystal Lagoon. Reception rooms gather at the core of the plan, drawn in Calacatta and Panda-white marble, Canaletto walnut and antique brass, softened by cream bouclé and petrol-blue velvet.

The stair hall opens the home. A Calacatta staircase with black treads and slim brass inlays sweeps two storeys past a mezzanine, a reeded bronze-glass column anchoring one side, a planted light-well of clipped cypress and lavender set into the parquet at its foot. Fluted grey panelling and ring-form opal wall lights line the walls, a bronze-handled walnut door framing the entry.

The grand majlis gathers below the volume. Curved cream bouclé modular sofas and petrol-blue velvet tub chairs cluster on a textured spiral rug over herringbone walnut, marble piers wrapped in book-matched Panda marble and brass reeding framing an inset screen on a Calacatta feature wall. Sputnik crystal-burst chandeliers in gilt drop through the double height, a second light-well of cypress carrying greenery into the seating.

The lagoon-facing living room turns to the water. Cream bouclé lounge chairs and a petrol-blue velvet sofa gather on a ribbed oval rug beneath full-height sheer-draped curved glazing, a cloud-form Panda marble coffee table and brushed-steel drum side tables at the centre, grey marble flooring carrying the water light across the room.

The formal dining room reads sculptural. Twelve high-backed chairs in oatmeal bouclé with fluted brass spines line a marble table beneath an undulating copper ribbon-mesh ceiling sculpture, a dramatic book-matched Arabescato wall and an arched terracotta canvas framing the setting, a faceted bronze console and rust velvet carver alongside.

The reception lounge completes the plan. Twin wood-and-brass ring chandeliers run above cream bouclé poufs and a petrol-blue sofa, a carved oak console with arched cut-out detailing set against sheer-draped glazing, kentia palms in matte planters carrying daylight down the gallery.

Calacatta and Panda marble, Canaletto walnut, antique brass, bouclé and petrol-blue velvet give the mansion its character, the double-height atrium and lagoon glazing holding the interior between vertical drama and open water, terracotta and copper accents lifting the neutral palette. The result reads as one grand, layered home — palatial in volume, warm in material, and lit from Sputnik burst to lagoon across every reception space.
